How it is made available

Using our digital solutions couldn’t be easier. You can tell from the presence of our “CoffeeConnect inside” logo whether a coffee machine has a modem installed and is thus digitally prepared. If this is the case, it can send the coffee machine data to our cloud system and you can use WMF CoffeeConnect. Most Coffee machines without the “CoffeeConnect inside” logo can be retrofitted, allowing you to reap the benefits of our digital solutions.

Once activated, coffee machine data is collected and transmitted to our cloud system. This data is then prepared for display in the portal.

The WMF CoffeeConnect portal can be accessed as a website, displays all content important for your business in clearly structured form and allows interaction with one or more coffee machines.

Moreover, your coffee machine can be linked to other systems via interfaces, allowing its integration into digital ecosystems.

Installation of the telemetry models depends on the approval for the specific country.
No telemetry solution for WMF CoffeeConnect is available for the models 1200 S, 1200 F, 1220 US, 900 S, Presto and Bistro

In addition to free functionalities, we also provide charged features on the WMF CoffeeConnect platform. These are bundled into packages. In addition to the free "Transparency package", extended functionalities are available in the paid Optimizer package.

The Transparency Package is available to all customers with a coffee machine and built-in telemetry function. This means that you can benefit from our platform solutions free of charge, from the moment you start using your coffee machine and register on the digital platform. The Transparency Package is suitable for all customers who want transparency about their coffee business and an overview of the operating status of their coffee machine(s).

The Optimizer Package is specifically designed for customers with a large fleet of coffee machines. The Optimizer Package offers opportunities for deeper analysis and optimization of the coffee business. Please note that our Optimizer Package is a paid offer.

Access and account

To register for WMF CoffeeConnect, first go to the CoffeeConnect-Portal and click the “Sign in for free” link on the homepage. On the page which then appears, enter your e-mail address, select the preferred language and click “Next”. You will then receive an e-mail to confirm your e-mail address. Please click the confirmation button in this mail. This will take you to a page where you can enter the necessary data and click “Sign in” to complete your registration.

All you need to log in is the e-mail address with which you signed in for WMF CoffeeConnect and your selected password.

WMF CoffeeConnect is optimised for smartphones, tablets, notebooks, desktop PCs and large screens.

The portal operates with the following browser versions and each higher version:

This guarantees comprehensive and problem-free use.

On the login page, you will find a “Forgotten password” link. Please click this link and follow the instructions to reset your password.

The deletion of your account cannot be reversed. You will lose all your access rights and all your data. If you are sure that you want to delete your account, please follow the instructions within your account under "View/Edit account" and confirm with “Delete account”.

Integration and access to machines

Following registration or login, you have the option of accessing the various applications and services of the digital solution. Depending on your access rights, you can view the machines and data in “Fleet Status” and analyses. You can also carry out remote actions or use other functions of WMF CoffeeConnect.

In order to see your machines, you need to connect to your account following registration. After logging in, click on the “My account” button at the top of the screen and select “Coffee machines” from the menu. Then you need to specify whether you are the Digital Admin for the machine (as a rule the owner of the machine) or a further user of the machine.

If you select the button “Machine Management”, you can see all machines and arrange them in an organisation-wide hierarchy.

You can view various information in the machine details, for example the machine name, the serial number, the software version, the address of the location, the MAC address etc. As Admin, you are authorised to change the machine name and location address and to enter additional information. These adjustments are then displayed to all other users with access to the respective machine.

In order to add the first machine to your account, you must be entered in our source system as so-called “Digital Admin”. The Digital Admin is the account which can first add machines to the account and then assign other users rights for the machines. If you are not yet entered in our system as Digital Admin, please consult your sales contact or our support team.

In addition to the Digital Admin, there are four standard roles for access to machines and machine data: Admin, Business Manager, Technical Manager and User. The Digital Admin is stored in our background system as the owner of the machine. The holder of this account can view and use all machines and functions immediately following login. Within the platform, this role has full access to all functions – with the exception of the online shop or spare parts catalogue, for which separate access rights are required.

Above and beyond this, the Digital Admin can extend invitations to other users and grant them access to machines. The Admin role essentially corresponds to that of the Digital Admin and can be seen as a substitute role for the Digital Admin. In addition to the standard roles, users with the access rights “Create and edit roles” can create further roles and assign access rights as they wish.

Applications in the WMF CoffeeConnect portal

The following applications are available to you in the portal: Fleet Status, Analyses, Machine Management, User Management and Remote Management. Most functions are only visible if users are assigned to an organisation. The corresponding roles are required.

You can currently carry out the following functions in Remote Management:

  • Display Management: upload individual images to the display of the coffee machine or delete them from it, transmit a complete media package, which can contain several images for different campaigns (background image, screen saver, images at the beverage dispensing point).
  • Price Management: change the prices of the coffee beverages offered at the machine.
  • Control beverage dispensing: block/enable beverage dispensing at the coffee machine.
  • Re-start coffee machine: restart a switched-on coffee machine remotely.
  • New menues and upload of back ups


    The images for the Display Management must meet certain requirements.PNG, JPG or GIF format and a maximum size of 500 KB.
    The resolution depends on the screen resolution of the device and is either 800px (width) x 600px (height) or 462px (width) x 800px (height). You will also receive this information when you upload an image. If the display shows 0x0 pixels, your computer does not support the image upload.

    In the Price Management area, you can adjust prices and enter discounts. The prices are saved in the smallest currency unit (e.g. cents).

    The Fleet Status gives you an overview of the current status of your coffee machines: 

    • You can see at a glance which machines have an error or where operator action is required. (Example: topping up with beans)
    • You receive a message informing you of activities which are still pending on the machine. (Example: cleaning)
    • Events displayed on the machine are reported after a maximum of 5 minutes.
    • You can see all events transmitted by your machine(s). (Examples: errors, tasks and information)
    • The dashboard area offers an overview of sales and the machine status as well as consumption and peak times.

    It is possible to export the event data as a .csv file. You will find this function in the Analysis area. You can view the data via the area Analysis → Data export → “Request new data export”. All events are exported to the .csv file, not just the currently active events.

    With the “Analysis” application, you can access various types of report which can help you better understand and optimise your coffee business. Standard reports are available to all users with the corresponding rights. The reports are based on the respectively assigned machines. To send a customised request via the menu “Analysis report”, please click “Request individual report” and fill in the corresponding contact form.
    The data in the reports is updated once per day, You can check the time when the last update took place in the “Management Overview” report (Last data update).

    Under WMF CoffeeConnect integration solutions, we offer so-called APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), in other words interfaces which allow connection to other systems and devices. As a result, our coffee machines can be integrated seamlessly into existing digital ecosystems. Please contact us for further information.

    Data protection

    Data protection and data security are top priorities for us. For this reason, we have developed a state-of-the-art platform for WMF CoffeeConnect. Its technical infrastructure is based on information security and data protection in compliance with international legal standards.

    The data is transmitted and stored in encrypted format. We have introduced strict information safety and data protection guidelines for the further processing of data, in particular personal data – in compliance with the Federal Data Protection Act Data and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We give our customers greatest possible transparency by publishing our rules and procedures for the processing of personal data.

    Non-personal, purely machine-related data is processed internally in order to improve the quality of our coffee machines and to provide predictive maintenance and care, to improve our internal processes and reduce costs.
